BELGRADE - Deputy opposition SNS leader Aleksandar Vučić says his party will start collecting signatures on Feb. 1, to force early elections.

Vučić told reporters in Belgrade on Thursaday that SNS will begin the campaign because they think the Serbian government brought the citizens to the edge of the economic and social abyss.

He added that the country needs serious and responsible fight against corruption and criminal, new hope and perspective, and that “people in Serbia are in need of changes”.

He said that the citizens will be able to give support and their vote for the calling of elections at more than a thousand locations on Tuesday or Wednesday, and that he expects a million signatures to be collected.

Vučić pointed out that “nobody invited SNS to any kind of talks regarding the Srebrenica resolution”, and that, as far as he is informed, “no one has written anything yet”.

“We are ready to discuss the text of the resolution, but we will not come out with our opinion on any part or the content of it, until we see with other representatives of parliamentary groups what is their intention,” Vučić underscored.

“I’m no spy”

Vučić also said that he received the answer from the Security-Information Agency (BIA) which states that there is no information which could connect him to any foreign service.

He said that BIA stated in the response that there is no data or information which connects him in any way to a foreign service.

“I am now the only politician in Serbia who has proof in writing that he is not a spy,” he underscored.

At a recent session of the Parliamentary Defense and Security Committee MP's of the Serb Radical Party (SRS) said that Vučić “is an English spy”, after which Vučić asked of BIA to “inform the public as soon as possible if this is true”.
