Dodik: Law harmonized with Dayton
Author/source: SEEbiz / B92He also said that he di not believe that there could be any reaction against Serb entity in Bosnia, RS, as announced by High Representative in Bosnia-Herzegovina Valentin Inzko.
Dodik said in a BNTV live broadcast late on Sunday that there was different political speculation, “for some imaginary reason”, in regards to the law on referendum.
“We made sure that the law is in keeping with the RS Constitution, based on the Dayton Agreement, and that includes the best European practice of vote, referendum, that exists in some European countries,” said Dodik.
He also said that threats or warning to the RS in regards to the bill are unnecessary and he called on all those who are distrustful to read its text.
Dodik added that the referendum question will be related to the respect of the Dayton Agreement and in regards to laws imposed by the high representative in BIH.
The law on referendum and civil initiatives will be included in the RS parliament agenda on February 9.
Inzko was quoted as saying that he was not acquainted with the law, that he would monitor the situation, and react if necessary.
